The Magnetic Ear is a jazz group from New Orleans, Louisiana formed in the mid-2000s by tenor saxophonist Martin Krusche. The group combines West African and European influences with traditional New Orleans music and modern jazz. They use a traditional brass band instrumentation, including saxophone, trombone, sousaphone, and drums. In addition to many original songs, they have done versions of jazz standards by John Coltrane and Pat Metheny as well as popular songs by Radiohead and Nirvana. Critic Jacob Leland writes that "The result of such a cross-cultural array is a wholly fresh and unique take on the dance-party brass sound that maintains a distinctly New Orleanian character." ==Members== ;Current members *Martin Krusche – tenor saxophone, bandleader *Dan Oestreicher – baritone saxophone *Michael Watson – trombone *Wes Andersonn IV – trumpet *Jason Jurzak – sousaphone *Paul Thibodeaux – drums ;Other/former members *Jeff Albert – trombone *Charlie Halloran – trombone *Jon Gross – sousaphone *Matt Perrine – sousaphone *Justin Peake – drums *Dylan Hicks – drums *Kevin O'Day – drums 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「The Magnetic Ear」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
